Waxworm Care

Caring for Waxworms is a simple matter

Waxworms should be kept at a constant cool temperature (55-60°); this will keep them dormant and ensure that they last up to 8 weeks.

Ideally, Waxworms are best stored in a wine cooler butter tray either in the refrigerator or in a cellar.

As a daily task, remove any dead worms (they will appear black) and remove the cocoons of any that are spinning one.

Waxworms must be stored in low humidity. If the bedding feels moist either when they first arrive or after they’ve been stored, remove the lids from their containers to allow them to dry out.
